Columbia

University in New York is one of the oldest and most respected private universities in the

United States. It was the first university to be founded in

New York, in
1754, and the fifth university to be established within the thirteen colonies.

Columbia

University was originally established by the Church of England, and is included in the Ivy League Universities.

Columbia

University has a long list of alumni that have gone on to do great things after graduation, including both Theodore and Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Columbia University has a commitment to academic freedom, in fact, each semester just before finals, students scream out their windows on Sunday nights, just to release the tension of the upcoming finals week. This has been a tradition at

Columbia for many years.
There are many clubs and organizations at

Columbia

University. One of the most popular organizations is the Columbia University Games Club. This is a gathering of students, and sometimes non-students, who get together just for the sheer pleasure of playing games. Any games are allowed, such as board games, card games, games of chance, strategy, the sky is the limit. They do not collect dues or have a strict policy that governs the club, you simply must enjoy socializing with other people who share your interests in games. Currently, the Columbia University Games Club meets on Friday evenings and the playing begins. They do, however, stand behind their policy that any psychiatric counseling fees are yours alone to bear. Of course, anytime that you get together with a lot of other people sharing your love of games, there is bound to be psychiatric counseling involved. Unless, of course, you are a Psych major, and then you can just treat yourself.
On a more serious note, the Games Club does offer socialization with your peers, and a Friday evening spent having fun instead of spending the evening stuck behind a book in the library or television in a dorm room. The Games Club is a great place to meet other people, and just enjoy your evening relaxing and letting the weeks studies and work be put on the back burner. Having a place to go to unwind after a hard week of studying is crucial if you plan to maintain your sanity while attending college. The Columbia University Games Club offers fun and games, socializing, and even food at one of the most prestigious and respected Ivy League Universities in the world.
